Sean P. Sullivan
Sully
Sean Patrick Sullivan, Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy, gave his life for his country on July 19, 2012 when his helicopter crashed in Oman during a heavy lift operation. His love for his country was surpassed only by his love for his family. He was known as Sully to his friends and was as Irish as the Blarney Stone. His hugs were legendary and frequent. Sean possessed a quiet strength and was kind and generous with a wicked sense of humor.
Sean’s personal awards include the Air Medal (Strike Flight) (3 Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 Awards), Army Achievement Medal, Pistol Expert, Rifle Expert, and numerous campaign and unit awards. His squadron won the Aviation Battle Efficiency Award for it’s performance in 2011. Sean was named Naval Helicopter Association’s Aircrewman of the Year in 2006.
